How Kitchen Krafters became what it is today
Locally owned and operated since 1991, we've been serving homeowners and builders in Fredericksburg and surrounding counties for over 35 years. At Kitchen Krafters, we offer a modern design with a timeless quality for all your kitchen and bath needs.
Our designers specialize in creating a functional space customized just for you. Not to mention, our skilled team of installers bring decades of experience to every project.
We are fully committed to giving you an enjoyable experience with a quality product. The people who design your kitchen and the people who install it work under the same roof, and most have been here a decade or more.
What "Krafting your dreams" actually means
It's our tagline because it's how we work. The same care goes into a $15,000 kitchen as a $60,000 one, because to the family living with it, every kitchen is the most important one in the world.

Our installers are our own employees, not subcontractors. Most have been with us 10+ years. It's why our clients tell us our finish quality is on a different level.

We over-communicate, on purpose. Clients sometimes wonder if we're checking in too much. We'd rather hear that than the alternative.

We treat small jobs like big ones. A bathroom vanity, a built-in, a small refresh: same designers, same install team, same standard.

People come back. A lot of our work today is doing a second kitchen for a family whose first one we built ten years ago.

Wendy Shiflett — Owner & President
Wendy joined Kitchen Krafters in 2011 and played a pivotal role in transforming the company into the successful team it is today. Drawing on her extensive background in sales and marketing, she revitalized the business and helped position it for long-term growth and success.

Stacey Thomas — Manager
Stacey oversees the day-to-day operations of Kitchen Krafters, managing key functions including billing and marketing. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Leadership & Management from the University of Mary Washington.

Betsy Peterson — Kitchen Designer
Betsy is the longest-tenured designer on our team, bringing years of experience, creativity, and dedication to every project. She has a true passion for design, and her positive, upbeat personality makes the design process enjoyable from start to finish. It's no surprise that many of her clients return to work with her again and again for their cabinet projects. Betsy holds an Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Onondaga Community College.

Mary Sauer — Kitchen Designer
Mary is one of our talented kitchen designers, working closely with local builders and homeowners to create functional, beautiful kitchens. She helps guide clients through layout planning, cabinetry selection, and finish choices to design a space that complements their lifestyle and vision.
Tina Moore — Kitchen Designer
Tina earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Interior Design from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. As one of our talented designers, she brings each client's vision to life with creativity, precision, and attention to detail. Her passion for design is reflected in every project, ensuring beautiful, functional spaces tailored to each client's needs.

Laura Green — Scheduler
Laura is our scheduler and the driving force behind keeping your project on track. She coordinates your delivery and installation, making sure everything happens as planned. If you're getting a call or email to confirm a date, schedule a delivery, or discuss installation, chances are you're talking with Laura.

Heather Mastin — Receptionist & Design Assistant
Heather wears two hats as our receptionist and design assistant. She's the first friendly face you'll see when you visit our showroom and often the first voice you'll hear when you call. Heather gathers the details of your project, connects you with the right designer, and continues to support you throughout the process by assisting with follow-ups and touch-ups after your installation.
Our Install Team
Our experienced in-house installers are a big part of what sets our finish quality apart. When your cabinets arrive, they're installed by our own qualified team—not subcontractors. Having a dedicated in-house crew allows us to maintain the high standards of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and accountability that every project deserves.
